This position reports to the Project and Strategy Manager and requires cross-sector collaboration within National Bank Trust. You will be asked to use your expertise in various projects for both institutional and personal services. NBT is undergoing a complete transformation, so this is your chance to join a dynamic team and contribute to the sector’s evolution with your ideas and initiatives. As a Senior Analyst, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in a number of large-scale projects, work with a dynamic team and advance in the field of Big Data.

Your main challenges

  • Work with the Global + project team to set up the new data governance bases related to the implementation of our new book of record
  • Identify and analyze the needs of stakeholders to ensure the design of reports/dashboards/analyses adapted to their situation and coming from our new databases
  • Identify complex operational problems by analyzing information to resolve them and making recommendations in line with general parameters
  • Analyze and interpret data, explain discrepancies and ensure corrective measures are taken
  • Interact with various Bank sectors and managers to interpret information and offer professional senior analysis support
  • Identify and analyze stakeholders’ needs to make sure that work systems, tools and processes are suited to the needs of National Bank Trust
  • Maintain existing applications and systems coded in VBA or Power Apps
  • Keep abreast of new developments in your activity sector and make recommendations to ensure the continuous improvement of processes, systems and work methods.

More specifically, you will:

  • Implement and maintain National Bank Trust's corporate databases
  • Perform SQL queries for ad hoc requests or operational processes to meet business needs
  • Publish analyses and recommendations regularly in order to have a positive impact on the National Bank Trust performance levers, processes and strategic orientations
  • Collaborate on developing and optimizing performance and quality analysis tools
  • Demonstrate innovation in optimizing the firm’s activities by both maximizing the benefits and profitability, and mitigating the impacts of changes
  • Ensure the durability, enhancement and maintenance of applications under your responsibility
  • Apply best practices for information development and security to enhance and maintain applications
  • Help develop and implement new processes, programs and macros
  • Create advanced tools to monitor initiatives and sales
  • Compile, produce and analyze various statistics  required by various stakeholders

Competencies required:

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2 years of relevant experience OR completed master’s degree in a related field and 1 year of relevant experience OR undergraduate diploma from the National Bank University Program and 4 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of business intelligence or eagerness to improve your business intelligence skills
  • Knowledge of  SQL, Power BI, Power Apps and proficiency in Excel
  • Knowledge of programming languages (VBA and Python)
  • Knowledge of data virtualization, an asset
  • Good analytical skills and ability to synthesize information
  • Diligence, strong time and priority management skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team and with internal clients
  • Sense of initiative and autonomy
